Just saw a 6.2L AT4 show up on my dealer's website. GM inventory search seems to show almost none of these within 1,000 miles (just this one actually). anyone else having any luck finding these? this was the trim I initially wanted but was told the 6.2L couldn't even be ordered on the AT4 and AT4 wait times were being measured in years not months.

Thats cool you found one, they are pretty cool looking rigs. I think the only piece I
could afford is the AT4 emblem.......I'll have to wait a few years for someone on here to upgrade and I'll buy used. LOL

I've had an XL 6.2L AT4 on order for a couple of months, so I know you can order one. My dealer hasn't gotten an allocation for one yet. I had a different dealer tell me the 6.2L is on 0% constraint for the AT4, but they didn't know for how long. I search the GMC inventory site each week and have yet to find an XL 6.2L AT4.

For sure. the cost of all of these vehicles in general seems excessive at times. I suppose you have a better chance of buying something new (or used for that matter) and running it longer than previous generations could achieve. I, for one, know that my 1987 chevy celebrity wagon would never have been able to make it as far down the proverbial road as a modern yukon, although that was somewhat reflected in the price of the chevy being 1/16th of the yukon price!

Yeah, I never bothered to even try and put that "order" in because I was being told the AT4s were looking to be about 1.5 year wait and the 6.2L version was an unknown amount of wait time. That's how I ended up in that denali trim, for that motor. I guess it is a good sign that the dealer I have my order with looks to be one of the few in the country getting an allocation for the 6.2L AT4. Clearly they are moving some volume.

I highly recommend the 6.2. Of course I am biased. Took me a couple months or so searching like crazy and found one in transit , in Pennsylvania but only about 80 miles from me. They took my deposit and honored the deal we made ( more in their favor then mine lol)

Totally agree. Drove Sburbans w/ various instances of the 5.3 (see sig), 6.2 in the Denali brings this land barge to life in a big way...Granted, the new 5.3 @ 355HP paird w/ the 10 speed is a big upgrade from the 325HP version in my 2013 w/ the 6L80, but where the 6.2 shines is passing on a 2 lane road: the roll on from 65-80MPH is amazing. And, the torque difference towing is a game changer as well.

Not sure the fuel economy difference is overly significant; the premium fuel requirement does eat the wallet a bit...but as my uncle always said about driving these rigs (He drove Suburbans for 45 years): If you can afford the truck, you can afford the gas -- or you didn't think this thing through very well.

I did ask the salesperson how they managed to get what appeared to be the only 6.2L AT4 in the country and he said GM built it for the state fair of texas (which is here in dallas) and then GM gave that car to this dealership. He also pointed out that of the 300 people ahead of me in line for a car, a solid number of those have orders in for the 6.2L AT4, and thus they aren't really "ahead" of me because my Denali will get picked up before any of those orders due to GM not really making them yet.

Wonder why there's a wait for the 6.2?

Having owned both 5.3/6.2 powered trucks, the 6.2 is a rocketship when running on premium fuel.
The 5.3 is perfectly adequate however.
My next rig will be a 5.3
