since ive seen the new 6.2 puts out about 400hp i started thinking if someone put one in the 00-06bs yet?? how much work would be needed to transplant the engine and 4x4 drivetrain??? worth it??

honestly, no. Enless your trying to build up your truck to be a crazy show truck, or have a very big sentimental attachment to it. It would honestly be cheaper and esier to trade it for a good used 07 yukon denali. Or just super charge your current ride and see easy 420 hp, with no other mods, Do the whole 9, cam, headers, injectors, heads, exhaust, BB tune, built tranny and you could see 500 hp easilly for a cheaper price and no ware near as hard of fab job.

not sayin im about to do it but just an idea. however my 5.3 with all those mods at 500hp definately will reduce daily drivability and reliability. radix is next on my list tho for sure, who needs a daily driver!

The L92 vortec is a pretty straight forward swap as long as you run some heads off your 5.3 or 6.0 (non-variable valve timing). You can find some cheap ported and polished 241s off performancetrucks.net, I plan on buying a set of bare L92 heads along with a mild cam and a tvs blower for my 6.0. You could even find a low mile lq4 like mine and just slap on a blower, all kinds of methods to get 500wheel out these trucks.

Yes you can do the swap.....my cousin put a l92 in his 01 silverado. He put swapped the sensors and reluctorr ring, new cam, springs, pushrods , 90mm tb, and the rest of the odds and ends for 4k

I think you have to use the old computer and have it reprogrammed and you wont be able to use the variable valve timing. I don't know what that would do to your power.

yea he used the old computer. It didnt hurt the power at all maybe just the economy lol.

so the block drops in, and the heads from these nbs models also bolt right on?

why wouldnt you just run the heads from the L92 and leave the VVT in place?

also, why are you going to swap the L92 heads onto your lq4?

You'll need extensive wiring to utilize the vvt on the L92 but the cylinder heads flow extremely well for a stock setup. I'm replacing the intake manifold with the supercharger so I figured it would be a good idea to swap heads and run the blower that fits the L92 heads rather than my stockers. Still on the fence tho, I'd like to see how far I can push this stock lq4 without any internal work.
