Hi iam looking at getting the wife a 07-11 yukon denali xl with the 6.2l they claim 12-18 mpg iam wondering what people are actually getting thanks in advance

Fuelly.com You can browse and filter by make, model, trim and engine size. It's all real world data manually entered by drivers. There are other sites that should give other data.

There is more data for the Yukon than for the Yukon XL.

Before you decide on a car, you should factor your wife's driving habits.

% city vs highway
% sitting in traffic
% idling
heavy foot?

My experience with more highway than city but a lot of idling is the gas mileage touches the median between both numbers and slightly below. I'm getting roughly 16.5-17.5 in a 5.3L. You can imaging that to be even worst on the 6.2L.

Most of what she does is highway driving I'd say 90% is highway

I get 15 max in my mixed driving with lots of hills and elevation change in CO.

Over the last six weeks since I bought it, my wife's '14 Denali has been getting 13.9mpg. It will do significantly better on the highway but about 5 minutes of idling/warm up and the avg drops like a rock.

I have an 07 denali and i get 12-13 city and 18-19 hwy on average. I have on a long trip gotten 20.5mpg hwy but i was driving it go see how good it could get.
