Got our oil changed last week, no tire rotation. Eight quarts oil, AC filter and the usual tops offs, alignment check, etc. A bit over $100 this time and they now charge an extra 3% on any service for credit card. Service department was not busy at all. I think I know why. But it's a yearly service for us lately anyway so not so bad.

Just brought my 2024 in. $119.00 for the oil change, tire rotation, multipoint inspection, and car wash. I checked the oil level the next day while in my level garage, and the oil gauge showed only 3/4 full. Is that right with an 8 quart oil change in my 5.3?

Just got this done. Can’t believe they charge $158 for an oil change sans coupon.

Checked the level approx 30 minutes after engine shut off. Looks overfilled by about 1/2 a quart. Leave it or drain some out(I have a fumoto valve on the pan)?

If you drive VERY gently and sedately, you might get away with leaving it?
But best to drain a bit out.

In fact you engine is better off 1/2 a quart under, vs 1/2 a quart over.

Figured it would be overfilled by a little since the fumoto valve isn’t the fastest draining thing. Plus I’m pretty sure the lube techs don’t check the level - probably dump all 8 quarts as per instructions and move on.

Thats not a half a quart, the whole crosshatch is one quart appx.... looks more like about 1/8-1/4 qt max. Nothing to worry about when it holds 8.....

Thanks for the explanation. I’ve always wondered how the values correlated to the markings on the dipstick. My mechanic brother in law just messaged me and said to leave it, not enough to be considered “overfilled”.

Thats what local dealers charge yes, it's a good deal, Especially if they actually inspect for issues. I had a missing tie rod and no one said anything about it for 4 oil changes lol

“Missing tie rod?” Hmmm I would think you would notice that the first time you tried to drive it. Cause it is not going to travel very far without it……
