I have an occasional 2-3 flare in my '07 under moderate to heavy throttle. Happened today as I was getting back on the highway. My 2012 will do it sometimes too. Seems to be the nature of the beast until we make the mods that Nick recommended.I have a 2011 Tahoe LTZ with a similar problem with first up shift in am cause a 2-3 flare but if I let of the throttle before it shifts it doesn't happen but it can also happen if I take a long left hand turn on lite acceleration. Trans fluid changed and it's been happening since I bought it in 2015. It looks like the previous owner did tow. Other than those two issues the trans seems fine and the fluid level is good.
Its going to vary by shop but mine range from $3800 on the extreme budget end upto $5000+ depending on what's being done. No idea on shops but what you could/should do is call around and ask each shop what they will do specifically (ie parts replaced, procedures performed, etc) and compare it to my list. If a shop won't say, id pass them on by...@NickTransmissions approx cost for a rebuild as mentioned earlier in this thread? Also, know any reputable shops in the tri-state NY-NJ-CT area? I know my early 09 will need it at SOME point in its life, and since I already did a DOD delete and cam upgrade i'm probably sticking with this thing for a while. Figure I'd do the converter, rear main and a transmission rebuild/upgrade at the same time.

I just remembered - call CK Performance, speak to Chris (owner). He's on Long Island and is one of the best GM transmission specialists in the country and I believe he does 6L transmissions. Tell him Nick out in Vegas sent you (he may or may not recall me off the top of his head but doesn't hurt to mention).@NickTransmissions approx cost for a rebuild as mentioned earlier in this thread?
