In you're not using it as a DD, I suppose you could open it up and take a look at the module. Maybe it's just a bad LED or something simple. It's already in-op, you can't make it any worse. If that fails then get it replaced.

Ridiculous, but the same thing everywhere. My wife's BMW convertible has lost both tail lights about a year apart, $400 each.

After reading this thread, I should have checked eBay, but didn't think of it.

I just bought spec-d chrome smoked LED tails for $89 / pair for my '03.. And the LEDs can be unscrewed and soldered. They look way better than stock

Why do they need replacement? For $600 I'd teach myself LED diagnosis and repair. If broken I'd get a replacement from a salvage yard or perhaps online salvage search? Worse case I'd put some aftermarket ebay ones. I'd never put the Escalade taillights on as that IMO looks cheesy as all get out.

Another thought is take out the LED and circuit out of the housing and replace with the guts out of an aftermarket one for any car or truck. I'd figure a way aroudn the $600 fo sure

Where are you at? Maybe someone here can take a look at fixing it for you.

LEDs are a stupid "solution" in search of a non-existent problem. Instead of a $2 incandescent bulb that needs replace every couple years, now it's a multi-hundred $ repair. I'd be trying to retrofit back to ordinary $2 lamps.
