Nice!! That’s going to be one heck of a ride. Do you keep them once done?

I'm not building it for a quick sale. Plan is to enjoy the car. I'm building it to be a reliable great handling driver that's quick enough yet should get close to 30mpg hwy. Will have a working OBDII port and GM 4 wheel disc brakes so if away from home a dealership could work on it if needed. I would sell if the money was right but that would have to be a big number. LOL

I almost bought this 73 Camaro 23 years ago for my Son's 1st car when it was a great looking driver but didn't because no ac. A friend of mine bought it and took the front clip off to install a fiberglass front but never did then let it sit for 20 years in a cow field. I ended up with it 2 years ago (free).

It's been a therapy project for me. I set a budget of $20,000 once I realized how little rust it had. Doing all the work myself & finding some great deals on parts I'm on tract to be under budget once fully completed. I recently retired so come January getting the 73 completed will be my focus. Hope to be completed by June.

Very cool car. Gonna put a split bumper on it? I'd live to see it once it's done. Anything special in the interior? Or keeping it stock-ish.

I'm going with a none RS split bumper setup. I like it better than the RS. Going with Gen 5 Camaro ZL1 heated leather/acatera seats, center console with gauges, Gen 5 Camaro gauge cluster modified to fit in 73 Camaro dash. Hoping to install the HUD (heads up display) from the Gen 5 Camaro.

The rear seat will be from the Gen 5 Camaro as well and will fold down to the trunk.

I asked bc I know some guys like the process of the build then they move on. Since you have some history with it it makes sense to keep it. I’ve owned 5 Camaros from that generation and they all had heavy sagging doors. Is there a fix for that now?

Getting 30 mpg is a great goal. My C6 got 32 on the highway. I wonder if the vette or Camaro weigh more?

Please keep posting as you go.

Those doors are heavy. I rebuilt the hinges & used Gen 3 Camaro rollers which are said to be better.

Started the new year with a couple of purchases for my 73 Camaro.

Doug's Headers LS 3" stainless steel exhaust is arriving the 9th. I used their trans crossmember for the LS/TR6060 install and this exhaust is designed to work with their crossmember.

Classic Auto Air is custom building a heat/ac system to the 73 Camaro with LS3 engine and mounting the compressor passenger side upper & away from exhaust. Should arrive in 2 weeks.
