8L90 Transmission pan Drain Plug?

Has anyone replaced the factory 8L90 trans pan with a drain plug pan?

if so what make/model did you get?

I've done the drain plug kits that you drill a hole and install a bolt with washers. They always leak so I'm looking for a pan like what dorman makes that includes a factory plug.

I still can't find one that's not $300. Dorman usually sells the $50 ones with a drain plug but I can't find dorman for the 8l90

Find a good welder and have a nut welded into the pan.

I've done that before, unless you know someone with a Tig welder it's not worth it. Much better to use gasket maker, etc.

That's what I did with my Expedition. I haven't touched the Yukon's transmission yet. But I'll probably do the same at the next fluid change.
