Hey guys, i'm new to the forum but I made sure to research as much as I could. I'm in the middle of swapping dashes on my truck. I'm upgrading to the 95-98 dash and your thread on the dash swap has been extremely helpful. Before I put everything back together I wanted to run something by you guys. I have a 95 a/c harness that goes from the a/c controls to the evaporator core and flap motors, i'm curious if anyone has tried to use the 99 and up a/c blower speed switch instead of the 95-98 switch. I know that the 88-94 a/c controls use a digital interface and that the 95-98 use a potentiometer. I wanted to try to take advantage of the 99 up switch because it has an additional blower speed and i'm hoping that will produce more volume from my a/c. I live in the deep south and there's nothing more aggrevating than having cold a/c that cant make it to your face. If anyone has tried this I would love some insight. I'm sure I will have to repin the connector to accept the newer switch but I'm not sure if there is more involved.

actually the fan control is just a switch that redirect power flow thru varied resistor values to adjust the speed and all from 95-2000 all have four speeds.

I should have been more specific with the year truck I was referencing. I want to know if I can use a 99 up silverado or 2001 up tahoe a/c blower speed switch. The ones that have the 5 position switch.

negative ghostrider. the 2001 has to fit within a space where the blower blows on it's resistor and i don't think you can get it to fit in the space of the 1993 not to mention the rewiring that is needed.
