96 s door cruise control trouble

ive read all the threads i could to this point.

when it stops storming up here in north nj , i will get to trouble shooting.
i just replaced my tails with aftermarket units that are non- led. would i still have the resistor problem even with bulb units? i notice a ton of "cruise control sensors" on ebay. should i look at this?
i will first verify brake light function , my stalk and switches are in great shape , should i be looking at anything else? oh , and is there a seperate fuse or is it tied into another circuit.

more then one circuit goes thru that brake light switch so don't exclude the switch just because the brake lights work fine. besides fuse #6 for cruise control power, #1 and #8 run thru that switch for light operation and is also sensed by the cruise module for operation. what exactly is wrong. also give up on this "cruise control sensors " crap. it uses inputs form brake light switch, control stalk and speed sensor shared with the pcm and dash. there are no true "cruise sensors" out there.

thanks. that will give me good direction to start.
whats wrong is the system does not function at all. will not switch on / engage by using stalk switches (not like there is any other way). so i wil try the fuse first since the whole system is dead at the moment.

is this the brake switch? they are all over ebay for about $20?

I went thru this a year ago. Checked the switch and back traced wires. Mine ended up being the control unit.

I got lucky and found one in the local pick n pay for 20$.
