Update - no update LOL

Shop's had it a week. Still can't figure it out. They haven't even narrowed it down to fuel or electrical. At one point they came back that it was the fuel pump. What? You did the fuel pump less than 4,000 miles ago. "Oh - well we'll keep looking". They've always taken pretty good care of me and I've been going there over ten years, but I think they're kind of lost without the codes. I still have my fingers crossed for it being something relatively minor, though if it is I'll probably have to pay for all the diagnosing on top of it.

Ugh

They still can't even decide if it 's electrical or fuel. Good thing I'm not depending on it to get to work. One possible culprit was the ignition module. To save on random parts buying for no guaranteed fix, I took the module off the Tahoe and put it on the truck - no change. They say this almost certainly leaves the fuel pump.

The worst part of that is, that this problem is why I parked the truck, and the fuel pump was done 4000 miles ago. But the warranty was time-based, and even the fuel pump was potentially NEVER good, it's out of warranty to the tune of about $1000

Wow - it really was in the shop for a month!

Fuel pump!

Which makes no sense to me, the shop, or anyone.

The irony is that it was a "new" fuel pump with only 4K on it. If you remember, I said that I abandoned using the truck because it was getting undependable. It was cutting out more often and getting worse and worse. It was the replacement fuel pump that CAUSED the problem!:confused::confused:

Well since I let it sit, it had gone out of warranty, but the shop took a hard line with NAPA and told them they needed to step up because it had only gone out of warranty BECAUSE it was defective in the first place. And they did step up and provided the new fuel pump.

I've driven it about 150 miles since and it hasn't so much as hiccuped.
