My '96 Tahoe 350 usually starts right up when I first jump in but kinda hiccups when first starting out & every so often after. After stopping, then restarting I have to put throttle to floor to start. Kick 'er down heading down the road & it doesn't miss & seems to accelerate just fine
Also at stop sign RPM's will go to like 1700 then drop back down, if in neutral. When left in gear it wants to lurch forward. Any ideas? I'm not working but could prob. afford a OBM meter. Prob. good invest. eh? I do minor repairs. Thanks

Mine acted like that after I had a cam installed, had to have the ECM reprogrammed, still doesn't seem right though. Does yours have a performance cam?

A good scanner will display variable from the 1996 and newer trucks that with proper know how you will be able to interpret right away. Most likely something is commanding you Idle air control valve to act up.
