Okay first of all I have searched about this and did not find anything that was helpful to me. I have a 96 Tahoe that I bought a month ago. It has a 5.7L vortec v8, truck ran fine until a few days ago, I left a light and the truck just died on me. I thought I was out of gas so I put 10 gallons of gas in it, still didn't fire up. I got it towed home so i could check it out. First I checked the throttle body maybe it could be dirty, cleaned that, still no start. Next I checked the fuel pressure it was 60psi, I looked that up seems to be in spec. Then I checked out my spark plugs and wires all of them look good. The truck had a check engine light on since I bought it, the last owner told me it had a bad o2 sensor. I got the code checked from auto zone it showed p0300, and also another one for crank/camshaft sensor. I changed out the crank shaft sensor and still no luck. Today i started to unplug each plug wire and start the truck when i unhooked the wire for cylinder 3 the truck fire up like it never had a problem, it runs fine on 7 cylinders but as soon i plug the wire for the 3rd cylinder in it dies, if i try to start it again I get blue smoke from the throttle body. I take off the wire for cylinder 3 it starts up again. I already changed out the spark plug and wire for that cylinder. Compression is 165 on cylinder 3. I'm completely out of ideas.
