Where can one get replacements to the super awkward sized speakers in the back of my 1996 tahoe?

i read 6.5'' but.. these things aren't round.. Any suggestions on brands/websites?

The stockers are 4x10" speakers in the cargo area on the roof. They suck and you can fit a 6x9" in there with a little dremel work, and you may or may not have to use a spacer. I have not done it yet, but I will definitely be sticking some 6x9's up there soon, and a lot of members already have that setup

BTW, the door speakers are 6.5"s :)

6x9's and 4x10's both fit. the prior requires minor work but Ive seen the factory size everywhere including pepboys on the shelves. Not very hard to come by.

Nice, love the feedback.. the 4x10 kickers sound pretty good, reasonable price too. They just look so damn awkward.

I was talking to the guy at a local stereo shop he said the 4x10's in back are usually pulled and not wasted for space. He said that due to shape of speaker they are not really a big help for tunes? That and they are so far back in the trunk. I dunno much about stereo stuff. I just got a new Pioneer deck and some 6.5's in my rear door speakers and am gonna upgrade the fronts this next week when i get home.

I want to upgrade the speakers in my 96 as well. I'm not going with premium equipment, but I am thing about going with all Kickers speakers, and possibly amps as well. I'll probably try installing everything myself, unless I get some help from knowledgeable friends. I spent $2500 on the system in my Jeep, so I'm not trying to do that again! I was going to post on the forum to see if it was feasible to mount 6X9's, but I see that my question has already been answered. Thanks for the tip about the dremel work guys! I guess I need to start in the rear as the center part of those speakers are TOAST!

The modification necessary to fit 6x9's is pretty much a waste of time as the rear speakers are pointless. Mine Have been replaced by Memphis just for some rear filler... I really debated about leaving them out. Focus your efforts on the 6.5's in the doors and you'll be much happier.
