If your not mechanically inclined goto a shop and pay for a diagnostics to be done. They will tell you what you need.

If you are mechnically inclined, then check pitman arm, idler arm, tie rod ends, ball joints and wheel hubs.

unknown at this time.
Since yours is a 4*4 I would let the shop do it and let them get frustrated with the pain involved. But if you are comfortable with it go for it. You can get free alldata instruction from autozone.

No worries! :Handshake:

If you have the proper equipment, you can do ball joints yourself. Just leave yourself plenty of time. Because your saving $$$ doing it yourself, why not spent the money you would have spent on labour to replace the rest of the ball joints? You know if one is gone, the other three are not to far behind it...

If you don't have the proper BJ press's, then you can rent them, or just have the shop do it.

The idler arm and steering box are relatively simple compared to BJ's. If you've been wrenching for 8 years, then you can do it yourself.
There is a write up HERE for the idler arm made up by Raving Mad Man. It's pretty good. I managed to follow those instructions myself a while ago, and I'm not a wrencher.

idler arm and upper bj's should be easily done by you in your garage, i believe for the uppers on your truck they are riveted (they were on mine, but i got a 96 4wd 4 door)

thats as simple as cutting the heads of the rivets off, punch out or drill out the old ones and then just bolt up the new ball joint, pretty straight forward

the idler arm isnt a terrible job either, if i remember right it went pretty quick, just remove your skid plate, unbolt both sides and put the new one in, the pitman arm is the real ***** to do

never replaced the steering gear box, but that i'd prob leave to a shop cause i think you need to keep the wheels straight the entire time to not mess up the steering wheel postion (correct if im wrong, as i said ive never replaced before, lol)
