I am new here, and I would first like to thank everyone here for all the great information that I have been able to use.

I have a "96" Tahoe, four wheel drive, four door with a L31 with about 180,000 miles. Last year I replaced leaking manifold gaskets, upgraded fuel injection assy. and replaced plugs wires and new distributor. After doing this I instantly got a multi misfire code. (Dist. set to 0 deg.) About eight months ago I replaced every sensor there is, plus new plugs, Taylor wires, Dist. cap, Ignition coil, fuel filter, Cool air induction, Headers, 4 O2 sensors, One catalytic convertor, Flow master muffler, oil catch can, Rocker arm adjustment, 140 amp alternator. Battery and cables. Runs great. But when I go to start motor, I have to just barley hit the key, and it starts with a high RPM of about 3000 to 3500 for about 5 - 10 sec. then idles down to 700. yesterday I went to start and it turn over for a sec. then starter would spin or whining sound and disengage. I replaced starter and motor turns over but will not start. I have not done any trouble shooting yet, thought I would see if anyone has had this problem and save me some time. Thank you for your help and your time.
Also if anyone knows where I can get a L31 Marine manifold? Thanks again.

To turn the ignition key to the start position. I checked spark and is very strong.
I forgot to mention that I had running 10 minutes prior.
Thank you.

unknown at this time.
turn key on for 25 seconds then off for same and start the engine to see if you get back the idle control. that would reset the IAC valve which normally should only let you get up to about 110 rpm for start and/or warmup from cold. at the speed you are getting it I not sure if the valve can open that much to let enough air in that the computer tries to compensate with more fuel. never really tested it for max flow rates. I would also take some carb cleaner and spray around the intake system and manifold to see if you have a vacuum leak that also may be the cause..
