:welcome:

If you can read the chart below it has A flow chart for diagnosis if you are inclined to do it your self Let me know if it is to small to read or print. Assuming you mean your parking brake warning light is what you are talking about. Now changes in overall braking ability right? If so you should stop driving it until it is fixed.

Damn :sorrysign:

That tranny indicator will light anytime your key is in and turned on even with engine off. So are you saying with your key removed that light still stays on? If so you ignition power switch is broken and will require replacement.

It feeds off of the #20 fuse for transmission.

not really you will need to disable the Air bag sytem(SIR) by pulling the air bag fuse and disconneting the yellow connector under each side of the dash since you have two bags and reverse procedure to re-enable. Will need a torx bit to remove two screws holding column cover on and maybe lock cylinder components on. The big connector down the steering column is actually the ignition wiring block center with two multi-switch connectors attached to either long side of center one so you will have to separate them and then the unit can be pulled out. It Can get over $200 at local store but an acdelco unit is highly recommended. It did last you this long right? Amazon has them on hand for $135.
ACDelco D1496C Switch Assembly

Remember that key removed is lock position one notch forward is off, next one is on, and next one is spring loaded start. One notch backwards of lock is accy. Tranny indicator power should turn on when position is in OFF, ON, START and shut down when it LOCK or ACCY.

Only if the tranny power wire down stream of the switch is shorted to a postive battery source.

but if you pull that tranny fuse and it goes off until reinserted and the light does not react to the proper key position I do not see any other option.

If after you replaced the switch and if it was still doing it that means the system has been tampered with and someone has rewired it somehow to bypass the ignition switch and stay on constanty.
