I have a slight charging issue that is from an internal
regulator on my alternator. I am of course replacing is
soon and wondered if any of you have gone to a model
that charges better or deeper for lights and even winches.

My stock charges the 105 amp.
Any advice or experience appreciated.

Just stay away from the Bosch alternator from JC Whitney. They claim its a direct fit for our year/model but they are sorely mistaken. I put an Autolite on my with no issue thus far . . .

After reading the link from Retorq I have a better understanding of my options.
From those I think I will stick with the 105 and consider going to a double setup.
For now it seems a rebuild will do the trick for my regulator/alternator troubles.
Thanks for the comments and assistance. And I will avoid the Bosch as you say.

Alternator Choice

I bought a serious alternator from dcpowerinc.com. It was NOT cheap... but its the best out there since most of the stuff you get today is made like crap or from China. I am very happy with it and probably will be the last alt I will have to buy.

LandChipper you will definitely need something bigger then 105 for winches & lights. Winches pull MASSIVE amounts of amperage and you will be really limited with what you can do using a 105.

As you mentioned, you may go doubles...whether doubles or one big one, definitely upgrade before you start hooking up big accessories.

As an example, I have a 140amp and have maxed it out with the following:
x2 10" subs
E-fan
HID lows/hi's
