I have a 98 Tahoe with the exact same problem ! After reading the post and replies im not sure where to start now ! I have all the same symptoms as Myr32 ! But ive notice when using regular fuel the problem is worse but if I use plus or premium fuel it helps alot ! I hope someone could lead us in the right direction to find a fix !

OBS Jedi-Do Good
premium has a slower bang which would seem to indicate problems with timing or ignition power. ensure that the knock sensor is working correctly as to not give false signalling causing to much ignition retard. cleaning out the engine may help to if it has heavy deposits in the cylinders.how do your ignition parts look? no damage? quality clean plugs?
