hey, new member here, with a 1998 gmc yukon w/ 4wd.

i got it for a great deal, but with a great deal came a few issues, such as the radiator and i believe the intake manifold gasket. the Radiator looks like an easy swap, but from what i am hearing, the intake manifold gasket is no walk in the park.

my questions are:

How long does it really take?
How difficult of a job is it to do?
What do i ave to watch out for?

all advice appreciated, thanks.

Really the hardest part is actually getting the fuel hoses disconnected since they are a PITA and a tight location to work on. I would also consider changing the CPI fuel injectors(spider system) since you are going to have all the stuff apart, so you dont have to do it again!

Just a FYI!

Radiator is super easy. There are a couple bolts across the top facia that hold it down, and 6 pipes on the radiator itself. Other than costing $200, it's painless.

Give yourself a weekend on the intake manifold gaskets... takes about 6-8hrs working straight (including thorough clean-up of parts). As suggested, it would be a great time to replace the fuel spider since you'll have the intake apart anyway. When I replaced my gaskets last time, I installed the upgraded spider and the VMax spacer....nice upgrades IMHO.

Only problem imo was when my quick connect heater hose connector broke off in the manifold. They sell an extractor at the auto parts store then I had to re-tap the hole. The PITA part is that the lower intake is aluminum so you have to work cautiously. I'm glad I didn't have to change that mofo tho.

okay, i did the job today, and i must say, it wasnt that bad at all, just time consuming. but my only issues now are that 1). my Check Engine Light is on, 2). my oil pressure gauge is not operating.

the code that pulled up is something to deal with the throttle position, if i remember correctly.
