Im looking to put electric fans in my 97 yukon and i found out.... after doing some research...that the 99-00 denali had an optional electric fan assembly. I found the gm part number and go-parts.com sells it. I will run dual fans from an 05-06 but i dont see why a single fan that was used to cool the same motor wouldnt be sufficient. Anyone have any incite or maybe own one with the electric fans. looking to do something very soon.

heres the link to the fan assembly: http://www.go-part.com/9299-gmc-yukon-cooling-fan-assembly-p-11216.html

thanks

i didnt think the obs ever came with elec fans?? weird..

Well any fan that has a decent CFM will work. i picked up a set of flexalite fans for 200shipped.. theres deals out there, but any fan willl work as long as the cfm is good for your motor..

thats exactly what i though but apparantly they started in 99 with the denali...im thinking it should be good to go...the 99-00 had a 5.7 which is my motor so cfm should be good. and the assembly is $81 from the dealer. looks to me like i run a ground wire and the other to my ignition wire and im good to go.

Wow, great find, for you Yuk owners, hah.
The app list does not list any Tahoes, that sucks.
I dont see why a single fan wouldnt provide sufficient draw.
This is what I'm going to be getting, eventually.

i looked at that exact fan but when i found this i figured i couldnt pass it up being direct mount. when i find out the cfm tomorrow ill post it. cant seem to find that..im sure a little custom work would fit them nicely on a tahoe. i dont see you it would work...it say chevy truck.

Hmmm. I googled the GM part number, it works on a variety of GM/Chev SUV's, Jimmy's to Tahoe/Yukons to Suburbans, etc. It appears to be an auxillary fan to provide extra cooling for an AC condenser. I tried to google it's CFM but couldn't find an answer. I would be interested as well, but I"m thinking that it's a supplement to, not a replacement for the stock clutch driven fan. And that sucks because I would have purchased one.

Or after some thought, if this aux fan is wired to run on a relay from the IGN, then perhaps it's cooling (while not enough to replace the stock fan), would supplement enough to reduce the need for the stock fan to engage as often? Thus providing some limited advantage?

I called the dealer this morning and they told me that exactly. I'm just going to do the 05-06 efan swap. Just gotta find some and at a reasonable price
