well got the old motor stripped today and got the new one mostly dressed up.. here are some pics for your enjoyment(sorry about the light quality)

dunno yet, part of me wants to build a 383 and slap it in the ranger, but the pure laziness part of me just want to try and get a couple of bucks for it on craigslist.

alright i found autozone has one they rent for 30$ that is refundable when i bring back the tool.. works for me

I tried theirs on mine the tool would not fit. Just de-shaft your old dizzy.

so motor went in.. then 2hrs later came back out the flexplate i ordered on amazon was the wrong one.. but amazons compatibility check says it it.. so if anyone goes to order one check the companys website to make sure its the right one

well the later it gets the lest productive i get so @10pm i got the new flywheel in, dropped the motor back in got the tq converter & flywheel together and motor mounts done.. tomorrow i should be to the point of starting given i dont have any more issues.

lol you have no idea, i have 4 herniated disks in my lower back, but my determination to finish this and enjoy some of my vacation is well worth the pain.
