99 Tahoe overhead console panel

The over head console in this 99 Hoe has a blank panel at the forward end just above the RVM. How do you open this up with out breaking anything? Was thinking it would be a good place to pop in an aux switch panel and a small pressure gage for the Air ride shocks. Was looking at the POD pillar install but just want to keep cockpit clean with out a lot of extras sticking out every where.

That is a blank spot for the rear a/c controls.

There is a screw at the front of the console, take it out and the console comes down. Then you can pop that piece out from the backside.
