99 tahoe wont come out of park

I have a 99 tahoe 5.7 v8 and if i start it in park it wont shift out of it but if i start in nuetral than i can shift out and into park or reverse. Any help? This very frustrating

If i recall there is several signals that go through the pedal switch. Maybe one of them is a signal that is only there when the engine is running and its messing up the switch.

My old 97 gmc c1500 did this. There is a brave switch that fails. It's the one that requires you to apply the vrajes to shift from park. Pretty common I guess. My truck got to talked before I can fix it but I found if I pumped the brake hard it would release and shift from park.

I didn't know this but If it is I guess there is a way to adjust it , Maybe yours came loose?
