Sorry in advance if this has been asked but anyway i worded this i could not find it. I have a 97 Yukon 5.7 and i had the Auto-Zone dude check out my CEL with his crystal ball. and it is misfiring on Cylinder #8 and Cat is not preforming at total efficiency, and it hesitates and jerks when then throttle is down only. I feel that it is probably the spider injectors and I am really new to the vortec engines and I searched the forum and could not find this question i have. Is it possible with the spider injection to just change out one injector or do i need to buy the whole 300 dollar setup? as i am short on cash for a bit. and it seems like it is getting worse. Had a backfire last night that scared the hell out of me and the boy. and help to that question would be a great help.

yes it is possible. the individual replacement for the original design run about $50 each at local stores. sure there is nothing wrong with the ignition for that cylinder?

I hadnt looked into that... hadnt even crossed my mind. is there a test to run on that? or how does one know that? I was just going the route of trying to replace the injectors but this could be feasible as well. it has 213,*** on it. so it really could be anything at this point.

the two worst things to use Google for.... when you are sick, and when your rig is not running right. Google is the DEVIL!

you can do an ohms test on the spark wire or inspect the dizzy cap internally and the most simplest maybe is remove the plug and inspect it.

I checked the plugs and wire... all good there. But a question I guess I have instead of jumping right at the fuel injectors would it be possible for the 02 sensors to cause the shuttering and jerking?

They can change your mixture quite a bit and if the vehicle is in horrible tune then maybe. Have a shop do a fuel balance test if you like to see how the injectors are doing.
