Verify that the compressor is still cycling or not when the outflow changes not whether it is still cold. It would take a few moments for the evap to get warm again.

And I mean the actual fan switch.

Thanks Sunlit. It is definitely not the resistor as I had the same problem this am on my commute to work, was only 10 minutes in to my trip in the early AM so I don't think anything got too hot.

So I guess when I experience the issue just pop the hood and listen for the compressor clutch to cycle?

Now that you mention the cold air issue, seems like I recall last summer when I was having this problem and kept the AC on, the little airflow I got was not as cold, only slightly cooler than the outside air, but only noticed after a while like you mention. So I think you are correct, the compressor is not cycling. I will confirm the next time I can catch it.

Also, I do get cross flow to the floor when I have dash vent selected, even when functioning properly (not the low flow issue). Floor not the same intensity as dash vents but still more than I would think it should. That is what was leading me to think it was a malfunctioning actuator.

So the fan switch - where is that located? Is that the one under the hood in the fuse box, or the actual controls, switches in the dash?

Sunlit, you talking about the switch that plugs into the dryer? If so, I've replace that a couple of times, truck would not cool at all, definitely noticeable.

And would that obstruct airflow somehow?

Current problem I'm getting some cool air, just seems flow is obstructed. Thanks.

Fan switch you turn with your hand on the control head. It is replaceable individually. Does not obstruct air flow but does tell the control head when to change outputs when it shuts down. It is an extra circuit in addition the the fan control in the switch. it disables the compressor controls and mode and recirc functions but temp control is always selectable. If switch goofs the fan can still run but everything else ceases hence check to see if the indicator a/c like goes out and compressor stops cycling. Just one way the switch can fail. Obstruction on any vent might be a dirty evap that is clogged with outside debris. Make sure the linkages on the hvac box just above the gas pedal also move freely. There should be two different control shafts that connect to the motor.

Had same issue, low flow, everything else seemed to be in order. A/c button light was still on. Turned A/c button off, quit blowin cold after about 10 minutes. Turned button back on and I got cold again very quickly. All while air flow was very low on high setting. Same for recirc button. No change to air flow. Vents workin as try should except for a little air coming out of defrost and floor board vents when dash vent selected.

Almost like there is something around the evap that is getting sucked up and obstructing flow, then falling back down after it is cut off. If I cracked it open and found a paper napkin stuck in the system somewhere I wouldn't be surprised because that is what it is actin like.

Lol! Ya unlikely. Read a thread somewhere about something like that happening, got sucked into the air intake.

Not sure what to think - not the compressor, so prolly not the switch, not the fan, resistor, or mode door actuator. Stuff on the evap coil, that falls off and gets sucked back up intermittently?

What am I missing?

Well cleaned that sucker off, lots of gunk. Seems to be blowing better. New mode door actuator as well. Will see what happens.

New update. When sitting at idle in park, and have system turned off, get blinking lights on recirc and AC button and can hear the compressor clutch cycling about 3 times a second. Thinking AC control now. Still don't know how that would case an obstruction though.
