the clutch is short cycling which it does when freon is low.... Check the ac pressure switch if you want to get yourself a wire and on the plug for the dryer/accumulator put the wire to both ends on the plug that goes into the dryer/accumulator and you should see your clutch engage and stay on.... from there if you are definatly sure you are good on freon i would replace the switch.

that will work but it will constantly keep your ac clutch engaged and you will need to replace your clutch or compressor sooner... $10 for the switch at autozone for my yukon check it out see what you want to do more.

forgot to ask.... with your clutch engaged and running now and your ac on did the ac start blowing cold? just making sure your freon level is good.

More than likely, the pressure switch is working. It is there to protect the AC compressor. If you wire around that switch, you will most certainly burn out the AC compressor.

If you don’t want to go through the trouble of checking freon pressure. The cheap and easy thing to do is put in one can of freon and it will probably take care of it. :)

you can even pick up those ac recharge in a can from any autostore. Easier than bypassing that switch and totally loosing your ac

the 55 psi reading...is that while the a/c clutch is engaged? the pressures will be totally different from engaged and disengaged. check it again just to make sure...it does sound like youre low
