Just bought a 2001 Yukon XL for the wife. Love the truck, but the air conditioning didn't work. I traced the wires back to next to the accumulator and found the PO for some reason had cut the wires @ the sensor/switch on the accumulator.
When I hooked the wires together, eureka, my clutch came on! AC blew and all was right, except the clutch didn't cycle, and would even stay on when I turned off the AC on the console.
First question is, what is the switch/sensor on the accumulator? I'm gonna try and get a new harness for that part and wire it in.
Second, would that cause my Clutch to stay engaged all the time? It free spins with the air off, so I know it's not locked up.
Thanks for the help in advance.
