Ok, I've never had the recirculate button turn on the A/C in any other vehicle I've owned. When switching from fresh air to recirculate the cabin air. But yet in my 01 Tahoe it does exactly that. I dont know, if that's normal or not. Hence the post, asking. Be gentle on the new guy.. LOL.

Just the vents. Still blows out the vents, but it turns on the A/C compressor. I've never had a car or truck do that before so..

This is what I'm talking about.. A/C compressor should NOT BE ON!! That's why there is a separate button, or so I would think. But yet it is..

I've had my 03 for only a short time but I noticed this same thing the other day. I had both the a/c and recirculate on and when I attempted to turn the a/c off by hitting the snowflake button the snowflake with line through it icon flashed a couple times then went off indicating the a/c was still on. I tried again and got the same results and concluded it was because the recirculate was on.

I also agree this is just retarded but then again so is having a display that only shows when the a/c is off (snowflake with a line through it) and not when it is on. I also wish i didn't have to turn the recirculate on every time i start up the Tahoe. If I left it on when I turned it off why the hell is it not still on when I start it up?

Well, today I go and get in and the recirculate button was left on from last night, and when I got about three blocks away from home I realized it was rather warm. And what do ya know, the A/C compressor WAS NOT ON.. I'm thinking, my A/C head unit is screwy. I've asked a few locals. Their trucks don't do this, or at least not that they have noticed it anyway. So I'm still at a loss. Anyone else? Anymore advice? Info?

Lol. Ok, glad the topic could help. But doesn't this strike anyone else as odd? That their A/C button doesn't work properly or in this case the recirculate button, doesn't work correctly. It's workin as the A/C button..?
