Hey guys,

Started up my 01' today, turned on the A/C and it started growling at me. It sounds like it's coming from under the dash but I haven't really got to check it out under the hood yet because I had to get to work but it's really annoying. It seems to still be blowing pretty cold and the noise gets louder when I turn the fan up to full or auto. I searched around and could only come up with bad A/C clutch...any other ideas?

That's sort of what I was thinking. I'm gonna take her apart later after work I'll update here with my findings if anyone else is having this issue

Were you able to determine what the issue was? The reason I ask if because my 2000 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 LT is experiencing the same issue. It's blowing cold front and rear but it's making a noise that gets louder the faster the fan blows.

Yeah sorry I meant to post earlier. Took off the panel under passenger dash and found it was the blower motor. Picked up a new one at Autozone, replaced it and all is good now. If your not impatient like me you can pick one up online for A LOT cheaper than a parts store

Is the blower motor hard to get to? How did you determine that was it just by taking the panel off? Last question...How do I take that panel off to check mine?
