A/C Issues

I just recently noticed my A/C doesnt work on my Tahoe. The snowflake button doesnt light up and the compressor doesnt spin when i push the button but when i push the button it shows that its on in the display. If i hit the defroster button the compressor works just fine. How do i fix this?
