Hi all, 2016 Yukon Denali. AC blowing hot/outside air temp.

I recharged the AC to only have it work for a little bit (and not up to the usual coldness). I went back and checked the freon fill and it was well below what I ended with on the first recharge which points to a leak.

I was doing my reaserch and see that there was a recall for this. I've been to dealer shops over a dozen times when this recall was in effect for my vehicle (within milage/years spec'd in the recall) but my dealer never mentioned or tried to fix.

My question is how responsible is the dealer for letting this recall go even though they serviced my vehicle many time while the recall was in effect?

I'm asking cause I'm now out of spec for milage/years of this recall and having the issue.

@Blitzed There was a major issue with the Condenser on all 2015-2017 models. I had mine changed out at 80K miles. My GMC dealer knew immediately what the issue was.

OK, but HOW MANY miles out of spec?
If not too many, hurry up and wedge your complaint in there!

Ever heard the saying "squeaky wheels get a greasing"?
Did you once complain of this symptom to the dealer? If not, they tend not to look for extra works to do.

In my view, they should have checked without being bidden to do so - but I am not a dealership.
Even my mechanic's shop won't go over my Z71 with a fine tooth comb looking for problems that I haven't yet brought to their attention, and they've known me for 25 years.

If I’m not wrong, it was an extended warranty not a recall.
As I experienced, the warranty expires 5 yrs after vehicle was placed in service. If OP did not experience any problems during that 5 yr period, the dealer was not obligated to do any repairs. There was nothing to fix.
Same failure for my vehicle, but about 3 mos past the 5 yr anniversary.
