Aaaand here we have another a/c thread. HVAC stuff isn't so much my area of expertise so bare with me.
I turned on my air conditioning the other day, it wasn't blowing all that cold. It worked, but really not as well as you'd expect. Vent temps only a few degrees below ambient w/ max a/c. I dug out the manifold gauges to see what the pressures were doing and found I had a leak from the low pressure schrader valve. Ok no biggie. I replace the valve, vaccuum the system, check it holds pressure. 20 minute vaccuum, no change. Filled it up with 2.7lb refrigerant (no stop leak crap. Just plain r134a).
Low/hi pressures are around 40-45/175-200 @75 degrees. Nothing out of the ordinary there, but even still, the a/c just doesn't blow cold. It blows cool, not cold. Again, just a few degrees below ambient. Same thing for driver's, passenger, and rear vents.
This has me stumped. I considered a blend door, but then why would that effect the trifecta of driver/pass/rear? Unless something's wonky and they are ALL bad? I have no idea where to go from here.
