Ok, so I got my 08 LTZ from a buddy who was selling his business and needed to unload it for the payoff (real great deal). its got 60,000 miles on it and looks great. I de-badged it, Royal Purple Synthetic, seafoamed it, clay/compund/waxed etc, etc. I just got my 35w 6000k DDM's, Putco 6000k fog bulbs, Highs, LED high mount brakelight (Not installed yet). Getting ready to convert DRL's and front ambers to LED. Tail G4's soon. Want to replace the rack with a Yukon/Esky rack soon. Keeping it pretty much stock outside, maybe a 2/3 drop down the road. Performance will be a CAI and BB tune.

Here are my questions:

Has anyone figured out how to get the DRL's to come with the approach lighting instead of the lows?

Do I need resistors for the DRL/Amber LEDS with stock tails for now(G4's soon).

Will a 09/10 rear bumper cover with parking assist and intigrated hitch cover fit on my 08?

How do I get the chrome mirror cap off and replace with a colored one?

Has anyone gone to a aftermarket MAF like a Granatelli?

Lastly- I saw in the Chevy accesories page that they sell a LED coversion taillight, I read on here that someone thought that a dealer could re-program the BCM to eliminate the hyperflash w/o using resistors. Has anyone looked into this, if not I will for the group...

Thanks for all your help, ideas and suggestions....

What's up Alex. First off, all these questions can be found doing a search. But to answer your questions specifically:

1) Not that I know of.

2) I have heard that you DO need resistors for LED DRL's. I could be mistaken though. I have heard that they will work for a short period of time w/o resistors, but will eventually fail and need to be replaced. FYI, led load resistors are only $10

3) Yes, not sure it would be worth the time and money though

4) ?

5) Aftermarket MAF's will do nothing for you unless you have forced induction. Your best bet is a CAI, Exhaust, and a Black Bear Tune for your performance gains

6) What you want is the Eagle Eye G4's. These will come with a resistor and are plug and play and look great.

1. Useless mod, just turn off your approach lighting so your HIDs don't get screwed, your interior lights will still turn on when you approach the car and unlock it.

2.What Conor said on the DRLs is 100% right, I know from experience.

3. Yes it will, not worth it unless you get rear ended, just get a hitch cover.

4. Pop off the mirror cap, and then pop in the chrome one, takes like 2 minutes for both sides tops!

5. Aftermarket MAF with stock engine = waste of money!

6. Again the G4 lights will be perfectly fine with your truck, no hyperflash. I have hyperflash because I installed white LED turn signals w/o resistors because I did not feel like getting some, the hyperflash does not bug me!

Bumper swap was worth it to me, I like the chrome strip. :)

G4's won't hyperflash, but when you turn your turn signal on and press on the brakes, the blinking on the mirror will alternate with the tail lights, rather than in sync.

Thanks for the responses guys. The answer to your questions bout the rear bumper, when I bought the truck, my bud had been backed into in a parking lot and the rear bumper is torn at one of the parking assist holes. The Ins. Co will replace the cover or pay to repair it, my pick, I like the look of the new cover with the intigrated hitch cover.

Thanks again for the advice, It has been fun reading all the different subjucts on the board and seeing all the different mods done to these great trucks.
Modded, yours looks great, did you swap your outside mirrors for Esky mirrors? That is the look that I like, chrome on the bottom, color on the top.
Zach, wish I had one like you when I was 17, also, how is the chrome tape trim working on the doors panels?
