I just got my 2007 Denali back from a local guy whom I was referred from a friend. I would never ask a dealer to do this work!
Some info about my Denali.
6.2L Engine
85,000 miles
Average miles per gallon = 13.4
He performed the following tasks on my truck in hopes of improving my MPG:
- Replaced upstream oxygen sensors with Denso brand
- Cleaned throttle body
- Replaced mass air flow sensor (MAF) with new Delco brand
- Added strong injector cleaner
- Replaced air filter
- Oil change using synthetic oil, Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic
- Inflated tires to 40psi
- Cleared computer codes
- Relearn computer
Parts were expensive but his labor was very affordable and I am happy thus far except the idling is a bit off because I believe the computer is still in "learning mode". So far it is hard to tell the immediate gains in MPG as I have only put on about 10 miles thus far.
The truck shifts amazingly better and has a nice response when stepping on the trottle.
In your experience, will the above repairs help with overall MPG gains?
Thanks!
Eric
