A little break fluid came out during piston compression

Hey Everyone,

When I was doing a break job, while i was compressing the caliper pistons some brake fluid came out is that normal?

Absolutely not. The seal probably flipped

okay does that mean the caliper needs to be replaced, or is there a procedure that I have to do to fix it. Just trying to figure out how serious the issue is.

you can rebuild calipers pretty easy you just blow the two pistons out with air then replace the seal.

Not normal and not safe to drive with

Bin it or rebuild it

wow, look at all these quick to say no safety inspectors we have all of a sudden. OP, just curious, do you have any life insurance policies out on anyone who might need to drive it, or at the very least full coverage? Maybe you could get them a desk as a gift or something where they need to borrow it.. I'll know the answer if you delete the thread (evidence).

Thanks guys for the input. I ordered a new caliper for the rear. Any suggestion on brand of brake fluid or are they all the same?

i just get what ever it says on the master cap. brands dont matter to me. i always get the large bottles too if doing a flush, better to have more then you need.
