A few years ago i decided to by a nice car because i had junk for a while. So i bought a 99 aurora for 4k. In the 2 years i owned it i put another 2k into it for maintenance. Half of that was to replace the entire ac system. Last fall it developed a rear main seal leak and i wasnt going to pay 2k more to fix that so i decided to get rid of it. I ended up trading a guy for my 99 tahoe. Mine needed some work and his did to so i figured it was fair. Fast forward to a few months ago when i quit or was forced to quit my job. Gas was never a big deal with the tahoe because i worked 2 miles from my home. After i lost my job a friend of a friend offered me his 96 subaru impreza for free because he didnt need it anymore. I never turn down a free car so i took it. It took about 400 bucks to make that run great and now its a great dd with ac and good power getting 28mpg. I found a dream job about 20 miles away from where i live so the tahoe wasnt going to be good anymore to commute so now it sits and sits and sits. Its not that i dont have room for it but it is in the way a bit. In my eyes i have alot wrapped up in this truck becuase i traded my car i had spent alot of money on for this truck. But at the same time the tahoes around here are going for dirt cheep. I dont think i could sell it for more than 2k here. And theres nothing really wrong with it there just not worth alot i guess. So heres the delema, do i keep it and have it just sit only for me to drive it on occasion, or do i just sell it for what i can get and move on. On a side note this is 4th car we own. My wife has a van and i have the old subaru in my avatar which im fixing in my garage along with the tahoe and now this newer subaru. She gives me alittle crap because the older subaru sits around alot and she wonders why i keep it around. But now this tahoe is going to sit which i believe she is going to have a big problem with. Just curious as to what you guys think out there.

I say sell it. Let someone else enjoy/fix it. If it is just going to sit, then doesn't seem worth holding on to. Insurance and maintenance is just an expense. In good condition they are only going for 2500-3000 around here. It isn't going to appreciate in value. Ever. So what you can get now is mroe than what you will get in 6 months or a year.

I'd keep it as a toy or for when your in a pickle and need cash then sell it. I've got couple I have just because they were cheap and can sell them quick whenever I get in a money pickle
