T-***** at an intersection on Friday. This truck didn’t have a scratch on it. So tragic.. I’m in the market for a new one.

Question is, what to do with this one? Fixable? Or parts?

How's the frame? Is the floor tweaked near that lower door sill? Depends-lots of variables to look at before making that decision.

Yeah think the floor board is pushed in. Truck that plowed us had a cow tipper bumper with *****. From my view the wheel and front end is fixable, fender and door fixable… that lower cab and frame tho … gotta take a closer look. I’ll upload a pic tomorrow after the storm.

If it ends up totaled part it out. Lots of guys looking for good condition GMT800 parts. Especially if the drivetrain in it is still good.

You said it best…. The silver lining is the truck kept us safe. Not a scratch. Imagine a Prius! Great idea on parting it out.

Dan, if you like the old girl, fix her up. Even floor or jamb damage can be fixed as VEHCOR on youtube has taught me.

I've fixed and flipped enough cars through the years that while it CAN be fixed, I don't know if it's worth it. I'd look for a cheap, high miles clone to swap the drivetrain over to. Add some new suspension parts and maybe customize it a bit. You'll get a replacement. It won't be the same though. What you don't use your self you can sell. Is the other driver at fault and insured?

I agree that it can be fixed but probably not worth it. The cab structure in that area all needs to be replaced before you can put new body parts on. That’s a ton of work and you can’t tell how far that damage goes. The best idea is probably part it out unfortunately. And yes be glad it protected you, it sacrificed its life for yours.
