So as some of you know we got a 2004 Z71 Suburban a month or so ago. After having it a grand total of 30 minutes and driving it 4.5 miles the trans blew up. Luckily we bought the "bumber to bumper" 3 year/36,000 mile warranty for $1650. Repair was $2500 for a rebuilt trans and labor.

Fast forward to last night, had truck back for 2 weeks and 500 miles and my wife calls and says "The ABS light just came on" So I inform her that it is probably a sensor, just drive it home. She gets home and tells me that when she turned the truck off it was still making a weird noise. I go outside, check it out and it is coming from under the drivers floor pan area. After crawling under the car it appears as though the ABS pump is running and will not shut off. So I go and pull the 60A ABS fuse under the hood and it shuts off. Go inside and google "2004 suburban abs pump" and it appears as though this is a $1500 part!!!! So back to the dealer it goes today.

This warranty company is taking it in the shorts!! I am making up for all of you that have bought the extended warranties and never used them.

I hope that this is the end of the bad luck run with this truck!

On the plus side I did get my Spectre intake installed in the 2 weeks I had the truck back and it looks and sounds really good. And thanks to Eagle I got new buttons for the radio off of ebay and replaced them and it looks wonderful.

Is this a common problem or what? My abs and e-brake light are on and I've changed the front hubs and sensors already.. Could it be my abs pump? Hmmm... I've never even checked that out yet. Looks like I have something to do this weekend....if it doesn't rain.

Mine was an obvious fix. Pump kept running til I pulled the fuse. Yours coule be the module which I believe is attached to the pump. I would yank it and get it looked at.

thanks. i may have to do that cause the freakin light is getting on my nerves now... i asked a guy at o'reilly and he said it might be the sensors in the front hubs maybe.. who knows! as long as my brakes work i'm good....for now.
