I have the one that came in my 2012 when I bought it sitting in the garage for 3 years+ now and it's still charged and holding 12v

It's probably original factory. I buy them this time though there coming up 2 years old and I'm going to return that one . They must have old stock.. 2 years on a shelf is to long .

Ac delco code like this P 021 P on another ac delco battery I bought . Thats February 2021.
So guys with new rigs might be shocked how old there ac delco batteries really are .
I think it's rar that I got this one .

I have one in older 2002 Deville it's 9 years old still tests out perfect it's a 79PG gold ac delco . That's pretty amazing I had it tested last fall .

So next time you send car or truck in to GM dealership to change battery .. Look close you might just be getting a 2-3 year old Batteries .
So you can cook all sulfate off and go replace it with another 2-3 year old battery couple years later . They will say I think you need a new alternator too and a cable regulator and maybe your starter is getting a little weak also .. you know five star service . Here's warranty that tells about date code .[emoji849][emoji15]

Is it common for GM dealerships to want to install two and three-year-old batteries?
Is that normal ? Maybe they magically think they don't sulfate sitting on a shelf.. or there magic batteries. Does anybody have an idea how their dream world works? [emoji849]
