Towed a car hauler and 3500lb car the other day thru hills in 90 degree heat and the truck never ran remotely warm, the temp gauge didn't change from where it normally sits.
I tried the old "will it suck a towel to the grill" trick and it pulls a shop towel into the grill so I don't think my fan clutch it bad.
I checked ac pressures and when the ac is first turned on my high side pressures are pretty high but after a minute or so they pull down where they should. Considering discharging and recharging the system but wanted to figure out problem rather than throwing 30$ worth of freon at it to see if it goes away.
So when the truck is started and idling I'm getting warm air and no compressor engaging. This isn't all the time though. Sometimes and I can't figure out when exactly the compressor kicks right on however it doesn't blow very cold. Other times it blows hot air and no compressor kicking on.
Driving down the road the ac will get uncomfortably cold and I find myself turning it off for a bit to warm back up. Where do I test from here?
