Ok so I found the problem after a lot of research and you tubing! It was the blend door actuator for the driver side. It wasn't the switch because the fans would work and the light being off within the control threw me off and made me think it was something else. I checked all the fuses and they were all good so I finally tracked the actuator down under the kick panel and when I was messing with the harness connection it started working so that's when I knew it I had found the problem!

And there you have it. Glad you figured it out. Now maybe the actuator is good but the connection is bad. Easier fix and less costly. Sometimes things under the dash get crud in them over time and just a good clean connection will fix. Also, make sure when you plug the harness in that the pins align and slide together tightly. Sometimes on the connection the pin on the harness will push out of the holder instead of sliding together and then either cause a bad or intermittent connection. Good luck.

Yessir I'm gonna get some dialectic grease from auto zone to make sure it sits nice and snug. I just really recommend starting to troubleshoot any temp problems with the blend door actuators .
