Hey guys I tried searching before posting but couldn't find my answer

My problem is when I have my AC on and turn it off when I go back to turn it on my settings goes to floor vents instead of the top vents like the way I had it before I turned it off

The only way that it stays on the same settings is when the ignition is turned off and turned back on as long as the AC unit is not manually turned off

It's a bit frustrating having to change the vent mode every single time

Greatly appreciate your help

I don't believe I ever had that problem, although I have had some other crazy climate control issues in that year model..

Hopefully someone has experienced the same symptom and can chime in.

I remember having my blend doors stick and have hot one one side and cold on the other regardless of where the temp sliders were.. It was summer and the HOT was stuck on the wife's side.. ouch..

No that's not the issue here but I have ran into that once before

My issue is if I press the off button and turn it back on the.air comes out of the floor vent instead of the dash so now I have to cycle through the mode till it gets back to the dash vent setting

Hate having to do that every time now if I have the AC on park the truck over night or for a week the AC will turn back on when I start the truck with the same vent setting since I never manually turned off the AC before turning off the ignition-switch

That is so funny, I thought it was my AC Unit acting up. If that's a factory setting, that's dumb and super annoying! Lol. At least I now know its not broken.

Mine does it too and it is indeed weird. Guess Engineers always have to come up with weird things in order to justify their existence.

is this with the auto A/C? Mine is always set to AUTO at 72 so it is always on. I've disconnected the battery, and I'm pretty sure It has been turned off when the smog tech smogs the truck. I've never had this problem on both my 06 Sierra and 06 Yukon... weird?

My vent settings stay as they were. Weird.

Edit: Nope, default to floor.
