Ahhhh, the 2007 with AFM...if I were you, I'd start stocking up on oil. Chances are good it will start eating it soon. Just remember, until it starts eating more than 1 qt every 2000 miles, GM will tell you it's "normal"...

That's what I'm living right now. I just keep an eye on it and move on. As it gets older I'll probably start worrying about that issue more and fix it but it's not a big deal for me to just keep an eye on it and move on. I've got bigger fish to fry.

Since mine is a 2007 6.2 LF92 I don't believe I have the AFM.

Also, big thanks to Breanne at GM for sending me the build-sheet and production date for my Denali (4/4/2007).

I think GM started putting the afm on the 6.2L in 2010. the 5.3 had them way before.

Correct that is what I meant. I know my 2009 Denali does NOT have AFM. My 07 Impala SS with the 5.3 does have AFM, as did my 06 Envoy Denali with the 5.3. As I mentioned before it rarely stayed in V4 mode unless I was going downhill or coasting but then a V8 doesn't use much more gas anyway.
