I asked 5 people at the dealer and got 5 different answers
Does anyone know if when the adaptive cruise control applies the brakes do the brake lights come on?
I haven't had any close calls yet but was wondering if the people behind me are aware my brakes are being applied
Thanks for any help you can give me

I've asked the same question and also get conflicting answers. Maybe need to try it on a lonely road at night and see if they light up the area behind the truck.

Another question for which I've been trying to get accurate answers for several months. ACC has "near" "medium" and "far" settings. What are your following distances in seconds at each setting?

There is no question the lights will be triggered if the brakes are applied. It's a safety issue. Even on the Tesla Model S, the brake lights are activated when you take your foot off the gas because of the regenerative brakes. Otherwise someone following you could end up in your bumper.

Yes it does - verified during a 500+ caravan trip on vacation.

Also interesting, if you manually apply the trailer brake controller without touching the pedal (while pulling a trailer, of course), the brake lights are also lit.
