Added a tow hook to a Tahoe LT

I put just one for now to keep me out of trouble. I’ll eventually buy the correct plastic bumper piece that has the provisions and add the other hook. I went full ghetto and butchered a cover piece from my stock plastic skid plate where the drain plug would be because it’s recessed a bit. Pretty easy job. I’m not sure why Chevy wouldn’t put something on the front of the truck for recovery on all 4wd’s???

It's pretty straight forward. I ended up just buying the front trim piece with the hook openings, but it's 2 bolts per hook maybe 20 min job total on the 15'+s.

More pics for reference. I was trying to key the original plastic piece in one of the pics. But I misjudged and ended up windowing, then covering the section instead.

nice ~ sounds like one of the many improvements they made in the 15+ models.

2 bolts for tow hooks since 1973... right in the ends of the frame. 01-06 and 07-14 the holes in the bumper are there and 15 up if you don’t have them factory you need to notch or buy a new piece. Just fyi-ing

I believe they were not offered on the lower trim levels with 2WD on the GMT900s.
