So I thought it would be nice to be able to play my phone / ipod or whatever else through my stock radio... SO here's what I did..

I already had this setup for my XM radio..

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_469GM12AX2/P-I-E-Aux-Input-Adapter-For-GM.html?tp=1672

so this gives you an RCA input - which I use for my XM radio - and the sound is great from this unit too!

Then I found this:

and I just drilled a small hole - and mounted it right under my 12v lighter - works great! and looks stock to me anyhow..

Awesome. I've been wanting to add this type of setup to my '03 Yukon for awhile now. I keep finding conflicting reports on if a particular adapter would work or not.

Thanks for posting!

I have had this adaptor for years now, Great sound - and it functions awesome.. You just push the BAND button and stop on AUX.. (which shows up after this is connected)

There are different ones depending on if you have a bose radio or Rear Seat Entertainment - etc.

That look pretty neat. Here's a write up I did on adding an aux jack a little different way

Sounds great. Any idea if the one you have works with the Bose system?

I like the placement as well. I was going to put mine in a similar location as the phone/music device will typically sit in the "top" cubby on the console. Wife has an iPhone, I have an Android, and our guests have a myriad of devices. We moved from just an iPhone adapter on our boat to the standard 3.5mm jack (changed head units), and found that we are able to "share" everyones music now when we are out on the water. Would be nice to maintain that capability for the hour or more we share to/from the lake!

Yup - I was in the same boat.. this jack is more "universal" .. Yes, mine is a bose radio and it works great.
