I am about to mount an aftermarket cam in the same location that just needs a single 1/2” hole for a bolt, can I just drill through my factory applique?

Yes, but you still have to take the applique off to get the wire to that hole

Yes made me wonder if there are models 07-14 Tahoe/Suburban that don't have a glass window that can be opened too.

Definitely not, just don't have the feature to pop the glass from the back. Most likely on a PPV or SSV.

I have an SSV that does have it, but then again, I think mine is kinda 'odd', it has things I don't hear much about (like the backup assist, trailer setup (electric brakes) and tow package ....

On ebay I also saw the ones that have the rear glass button AND/OR the camera. so there are several ones?

Ron

This is based off my own personal experience. I've owned many GMT900 vehicles and some had the camera and some didn't. The applique was different for both depending on if the vehicle came with factory nav screen or not and had rear cam capabilities. TBH I didn't even know they had a rear glass button lol!
