Helping a friend with his 2006 Suburban LTZ. He wants a wireless (not really wireless) backup camera added to his factory head unit. It is the touchscreen version with navigation. I've looked online a little already and could only find some older posts concerning an interface that costs around $350. Didn't know if there was another way to go about it.

So far I found a product from NavTool as the PAC vci gm2 is discontinued. I also found a PAC VCI-X on ebay but don't know if that will work or not.

Curious where this has gone. Also, had a thought... Anybody ever put a camera here?

VCI-X will work; that's the one I used. On the opposite side of the blue Pac label it has gm 2 on it.

How long have you had it installed? Was it a pita to run the wiring? Hard to get the angle adjusted ?
I've had it since may of 2023 with no problems. Was not a pain whatsoever, I just went through the existing port right under the 3rd brake light and ran it under the interior trim/headliner on the left side (driver side) all the way to the front to the rear view mirror/dashcam. The angle didn't have to be perfect because I can adjust the camera view up and down at the mirror/dashcam to where I want it when in rear view mode which doesn't show the full camera view. I've installed a swivel bracket before but it didn't look great and didnt really make the viewing area much better. When in reverse mode the camera goes into full view mode , but due to that angle the rear bumper/hitch are not in view, so that's unfortunate, but I'm ok with it. I plan to install a second reverse cam at the license plate or somewhere lower that shows the bumper/hitch.
