So, I started to rebadge my 2007 LTZ and behind the very first piece on the side door is a big ding in the door and some kind of white stuff that seems like caulk or something that as I'm removing is peeling the paint underneath pretty bad. Someone appears to have done this before or tried to cover something up. Anyways....I'd like to put the piece back back on and just leave it as it is. So, what do you guys recommend for the 2-sided tape to use to get it back on for good? Thanks in advance.

There are different grades of 3M tape. I think the one for body molding has foam that is thinner than the typical double sided tape.
